So after devouring all four available books, I absolutely loved this series, and I'm going to try and keep spoilery information to a minimum as I tell you exactly why I loved it. Richelle Mead did such a good job with VA, crafting a well fleshed-out world with interesting stories and wonderful touches, like a unique take on a typical UF plot line, that I was confident enough to go into Bloodlines blindly. I knew which characters were moving into the next series, but that was about it-I didn't even know who the main pairing was going to be-and I was happy to be clueless. Having been spoiled, badly, for major VA plot points I was diligent about avoiding anything that might give me clues about the Bloodlines events. There was enough left up in the air, and I enjoyed the world so much that I moved right on to the Bloodlines series, a spin-off of VA featuring characters that we had already met. It has been an honor embarking on this journey! I have no idea what I am going to do with myself now that I am done.As I told you recently, I broke my Young Adult boycott by reading the entire Vampire Academy series in just a few weeks. After going on and enjoying a 12 book journey I am sad to put them to rest. I blew through that series in May and was pleasantly surprised to learn of the Bloodlines series! I invested in the series from EBay and blew through that one finishing yesterday. I reacquainted myself with Vampire Academy because DANGIT after a lifetime I NEEEEEDED to know what ever came of Dimitri. I slowly pick my way through 3 random library books but with libraries closed I had to turn to my own book shelves to sustain the reading spark.
March 2020 COVID happens and I am out of work. Even after finishing both an ADN and BSN program I still never gained the reading bug back. I always told my self I'd be able to read again when I was done with school. I started nursing school in 2013 but lost my love of reading during the course of the program.
I started reading VA back when it was released got through about 4 of the books and had never finished the series back then.
